Requirements:
Candidates for undergraduate membership:
Candidates for undergraduate membership must have completed a minimum of two college courses in English language, literature, media studies or technical communications beyond the usual requirements in freshman English (ENG 1310, ENG 1320/1321). The candidate must have a minimum of a B average in English or in general scholarship (GPA of 3.0). Candidates for undergraduate membership need not be majoring or minoring in the discipline of English.
Candidates for graduate membership:
Must be enrolled in a graduate program in English, or one of its specializations, have completed six semester hours of graduate work or the equivalent, and have a minimum grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
The $75 membership fee will be collected by the Sigma Tau Delta treasurer once your application has been approved.
During the main Fall and Spring sessions you should receive a response from the Sigma Tau Delta advisors within 7-10 calendar days. During the winter and summer breaks it may take slightly longer.
